Sporadic running since late December, but getting back into it. Was doing three a week, missed a week and a half, let's go. Whistle Stop Marathon in October, here I come.

Hey! Everybody's still running, how come no one's posting?
My new shoes came, finally, so I can stop wrecking myself on my runs. They're Adidas Kanadia TR 3's, which are the newer version of the shoes I ran the 2010 Twin Cities marathon in. I've had really good luck with those shoes, but they're all beaten worthless.
My shin hurts a lot less, but I'm still trying to be easy on it. The stretching I've found online and have been recommended by friends (thanks for the link, Chris) seems to be helping as well. I'm hoping to go for a run tomorrow in the new shoes and get this train back on track.
Tucson is a mere month away. Eesh.

Mid-week run
55% of the way to 90 miles in 30 days. I don't feel like I ever loosened up on this one. Ugh.

On my iPod: song of the week UPDATE: Song of the run
UPDATE 10-2-11: Since I have so many songs on my iPod that I listen to while I run and there's so little time (relatively) until the marathon, I'm going to post a "Song of the run" instead of a song of the week. Click on the link to listen. (Please note that Amazon kicks a fraction of a cent our way for each song purchased through our links. Any money we make goes towards race entry fees and/or after-running beers.)
Song of the run: Santana's 1976 exercise in grooviness, "Let It Shine" from the album Amigos.

Speed bumps
There sure are a lot of speed bumps on the road to Tucson. Tweaked my knee. I ran through it last night but for the worse today. Ice and Advil are my friends. Maybe it was the running in the dark? Maybe it was the cheeseburger I ate before I ran? Maybe it was bad genetics? No 16 miler tomorrow. It's going to have to wait.

The 2011 Twin Cities Marathon is this weekend. Almost one year ago Chris and I finished this race on a lovely fall afternoon.Twin Cities in Motion does a great job with all of the events during the weekend. If you've got young runners, check out the great Family Events. Fun TCM fact if you're going: I designed the TCM mascots, so keep an eye out for them.

Tough luck Kel. I've done the same so you are in good company. I got out on some of the same route we did Saturday and made it 3 out and 3 back and avoided gulping down any bugs this time so I considered it a success. I started fast and ran out of steam towards the end. My Garmin comes in on Wednesday so I can start not cheating on times which should make Chris happier. I did show 14.19 on Saturday and you techies were only at 14 :) Gorgeous temp and night for a run. I'm trying to use this nice Fall weather prior to it getting ugly. Already counting how many gels I have for a 16 hopefully this weekend.
